Hi, my name’s Jack Busch and although it may be better for SEO purposes, I think I’m not going to speak in third person (if that’s all right with you). I’m a freelance writer born in Iowa, raised in Illinois and educated at University of Iowa. I now live in Pittsburgh, where no one disagrees that french fries are a condiment.
Since 2006, I’ve been working as a copywriter on the web. I also served a brief (well, actually it was two years) stint as a writer/investigator at a due diligence firm in East Liberty. The workload consisted primarily of crafting succinct summaries of hundreds of pages of financial news, condensing dense judicial opinions and lawsuits into a form suitable for consumption by humans, researching companies through public records and databases, getting financial big wigs to dish dirt (or praise) about their former colleagues and then spinning the whole mess into a readable, chronological (and oftentimes dramatic) narrative. It was actually kind of a lot of fun. I continue to work for this fine organization on a contract basis.
Currently, I’m a freelance writer working primarily on the Internet. As a contributing editor at Primer Magazine, I enjoy writing about careers, relationships, self-employment, politics and other topics of interest to post-collegiate men who are interested in bettering themselves. My favorite part of this job is getting on the horn and talking to interesting, innovative young entrepreneurs such as the folks at Indochino, Deeplocal and Electric Owl Studios. I’ve also contributed to numerous personal finance blogs, such as FinancialMethods.org, Free Money Finance, MasterYourCard, MyWifeQuitHerJob.com and Grad Money Matters. I also write occasionally for ReveNews, a blog for discussion of online advertising, CPA, SEO, affiliate and next generation marketing.
I’m working on a novel, too. But aren’t we all?
